The Gift of Questions
Seeking Logic in a World of Mystery
Have you ever found yourself desperately needing an answer, any answer, just to relieve the pressure in your mind?
That tension, that buzzing itch to understand, to solve, to make sense of the world around you... that’s the energy of Gate 4—the Gate of Formulization.
This week’s transit brings with it a surge of mental activity. Expect more questions, more doubts, more “why” and “how” moments — both from within and from others.
This energy doesn’t rest. It wants to understand, organize, and create formulas to explain what feels uncertain or chaotic.
Gate 4 sits at the beginning of the understanding circuit, deeply rooted in logic. But here’s the catch — it’s not about definitive answers just yet. It’s about the formulation of possible solutions, concepts, and theories. These answers, though satisfying in the moment, might not be tested or proven yet. Their power lies in how they help us release mental pressure and express what we’re pondering.
When expressed unconsciously, this energy can show up as intolerance, accepting only our own ideas and dismissing others’ perspectives. In this shadow state, we risk cutting ourselves off from the richness of diverse viewpoints. On the other end of the spectrum, its highest expression is forgiveness, both toward ourselves for being blind to our own truth, and toward others for holding different answers.
True understanding blossoms when we recognize that everyone’s perspective adds a valuable piece to the bigger picture.
If you find yourself questioning everything this week — from the structure of your day to the meaning of life — know that it’s not a flaw. It’s a function. This curiosity is a gift, especially when shared.
Gate 4 energy isn’t meant to live only in your head. It’s meant to be expressed, exchanged, and explored through communication.
Whether at work or in relationships, this energy invites us to be open, to not shy away from the discomfort of not knowing, but to embrace it as the starting point of learning. Success isn’t found in pretending to know everything. Sometimes, it’s about staying curious, forgiving differing opinions, and growing together.
This week, lean into your questions.
Share them.
Use them to connect, to teach, to understand. You don’t need to have all the answers — just the openness to explore them with others.
