The Fire That Can Create or Destroy
Friction - when two forces meet in opposition
The Sun has moved into a new energy this week: Gate 6, the gate of friction and conflict, and it’s getting more emotional, more intense, more sexy.
This energy lives in the emotional solar plexus, which means it isn’t mental — it’s deeply emotional, visceral, and often unconscious. Friction is not always comfortable. It can feel like heat, pressure, or a clash. But the same friction can be the catalyst, that sparks intimacy, movement, and change.
Friction can create life — it is the very energy of sexuality.
Friction can also destroy — the root of wars, fights, and emotional battles.
In my own chart, this gate sits in my design Mercury, so friction is often present in my body language, tone of voice, and the way I communicate. I’m unconsciously transmitting emotional waves, and I can feel conflicts rising both inside me and around me. Sometimes it’s my mind imagining one thing while my body pushes against it — a fight within myself. Other times it’s my positive outlook colliding with someone else’s negativity, creating tension and even tears.
But here’s the beauty: conflict is essential.
The heat of friction doesn’t just burn; it also transforms. It can become the catalyst for evolution, for higher frequency, for change.
Over the next 6 days, notice how this energy shows up for you:
In your own body and emotions
In your relationships
At work or at home
Even in the world around you — in news headlines, or arguments on social media
We are all in friction because we are all holding on to our truth. We see from our own perspective, and we often forget that everyone else has their own eyes, mind, and body — their own truth. None of these are “wrong” or “right,” just different.
When we understand the invisible mechanics behind this uniqueness, conflict can shift. Instead of fighting, we can become curious. Instead of heat burning us down, it can warm us, move us, and bring intimacy.
So this week, watch the friction. Feel it. And let it transform into understanding, joy, pressure, and intimacy. Because emotions are the strongest drive in us — stronger even than survival.
